Are you developing an innovative, data-enabled solution for the decentralised energy industry? Apply to the Pitch Competition and showcase your technology to investors, industry leaders and potential strategic partners at the 2026 Decentralised Energy Forum.

The competition is open to eligible Canadian early- and growth-stage companies working in distributed generation, energy storage, smart-grid and management technologies, or energy services and marketplaces.

Applications close: October 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time

The Invitation

If your company is leading the way in decentralised energy solutions — whether it's data-driven grid operations, intelligent energy management, or security. Apply to compete for investment opportunities, strategic partnerships and valuable industry connections.

Decentralised Energy (DE) is kinetic and/or potential energy that is created and/or stored close to the point(s) of consumption. If your company is bringing an innovation to market that enables the integration of energy systems into buildings and communities, we encourage you to submit your application to the pitch competition.

Why Participate?

By participating, you will have the chance to showcase your technology to a broad audience, including potential partners, industry leaders, and investors. Selected finalists will also receive coaching and training sessions, allowing you to refine your pitch and gain valuable insights. Winners will gain exposure to potential investors and strategic partners, creating opportunities for investment, collaboration and business growth.

Eligibility and Evaluation

Eligible companies have innovations in the following categories and should demonstrate strong data-enabled or data-centric capabilities:

  • Distributed generation

  • Energy storage solutions

  • Smart-grid and management technologies

  • Energy services and marketplaces

Additionally, you need:

  • Canadian incorporation

  • A Certificate of Registration

  • 99 or fewer employees

  • Less than $5 million in revenue during the previous 12 months

  • Early-stage or growth-stage status
