Titus Signs 673MW Gas-Engine Supply Deal with AB Energy for Texas Data Center Parks

First 400MW is set to be commissioned by Q4 2027

Titus Low Carbon Ventures has signed a 673MW supply agreement with AB Energy USA for natural gas-fueled generation to power its planned data center power parks in Texas.

The deal will see AB’s operating arm, Gruppo AB, deliver up to 202 Ecomax 33 packaged reciprocating units powered by Jenbacher J620 engines. The first 400MW is set to be commissioned by Q4 2027, with the remaining capacity online by mid-2028.

Titus said its power-park model will combine behind-the-meter thermal generation with large-scale solar, wind, battery storage, and a high-voltage grid interconnection. The company claims that this multitechnology approach can reduce power costs for data center tenants by more than 70 percent compared with a grid-only supply, while also addressing reliability and ESG targets.

The Ecomax units are containerized and modular, designed for parallel installation, quick start-up, and island-mode operation alongside BESS. Titus said the setup will enable staged energization of campuses beginning in 2027, providing firm capacity and faster time-to-power in line with new Texas regulatory requirements.

"Time-to-power wins in this new era," said Jeff Ferguson, president of Titus. "Partnering with Gruppo AB gives Titus a thermal generation solution that delivers firm flexible power and—when deployed at our renewable sites—a clear pathway to the cleanest, lowest power cost data center campuses in the US."

Giuseppe Fiorella, general manager of AB North America, added: "Our Ecomax 33 power plants, powered by Jenbacher J620 engines, are built for mission-critical sites and rapid deployment. This collaboration represents one further step for AB's growth in the US, a market where we are committed to delivering reliable, sustainable, and efficient energy solutions, and where we are strengthening our presence with the upcoming opening of our new US headquarters in the Houston area."

Titus is currently in talks with potential tenants for its planned campuses, with further supply tranches expected to follow customer commitments.
