Jeff Shaw
Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Cardston
Jeff Shaw is born and raised in Southern Alberta. He and his wife Amanda have 3 great kids and a new son-in -law. The opportunity to work for the Town of Cardston came in 2008, and Jeff has been the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town since 2015. One of the unique aspects of the Town of Cardston is that the Town is the owner of the electrical distribution system. Cardston and Ponoka are the only two Towns in the Province that still own and operate their respective distribution systems.
Jeff has a passion for looking at ways to operate and deploy technology within the Town system to maximize the benefits of ownership for the Cardston residents. The Town owns a solar farm which offsets the electricity consumption of all Town owned facilities and streetlights. They are also currently partnering with the private sector on another larger solar farm which will offset the entire Town consumption during solar generation hours.
