Sale prices and discount codes cannot be combined with subsidy funding through the Community Energy Funding program if approved.

Funding Available

DEC is providing funding to support the development of community energy projects in Alberta’s rural and indigenous communities. Five eligible communities will receive a grant for 50% of the costs of community energy training and/or project development support. Deadline to apply is October 30th, 2020.

  • Must be a rural* or indigenous community**

  • Must complete a community energy project statement of interest.

  • Must have community directive to explore community energy project feasibility (Letter from community decision-maker).

  • Must have budget confirmation to cover training or project development fees.

*Rural community – a community that is not designated as census metropolitan area (CMA). Alberta only has three CMAs: Edmonton, Calgary and Lethbridge. All other communities in Alberta are eligible for funding.

 

**Indigenous community - Includes First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. There are 8 Métis Settlements and 48 First Nations eligible for funding in Alberta. More info here.
