Launch of new national technical specification – Terminology for Decentralised Energy Industry

CSA Group, in partnership with the Standards Council of Canada, has embarked on developing a new National Technical Specifications | Standards Council of Canada - Conseil canadien des normes that provides Terminology for the Decentralised Energy* Industry in Canada. The development of a National Technical Specification is intended to facilitate sectoral consensus to achieve common language and to encourage national interoperability. This will be accomplished by leveraging and referencing existing relevant terms and developing those where gaps are identified.
The new project will be launched in April 2022 and a new committee will be formed to support the effort. Should you have any questions, or have an interest in participating on the committee, please contact Sarzil Rahman.
*The scope of decentralised energy (DE) includes heating, cooling or electrical energy that is produced, managed and/or stored at the point of consumption. This encompasses onsite energy generation, smart grid enabling technologies and energy efficiency measures. DE systems are typically connected to the distribution wires (not the transmission wires) and consist of multiple technologies that must be integrated and optimized using smart grid enabling solutions.
Lancement d’une nouvelle spécification technique nationale – Terminologie de l’industrie de l’énergie décentralisée
Le Groupe CSA, en partenariat avec le Conseil canadien des normes, a entrepris l’élaboration d’une nouvelle Spécifications techniques nationales | Standards Council of Canada - Conseil canadien des normes qui fournit une terminologie pour l’industrie de l’énergie décentralisée* au Canada. L’élaboration d’une Spécification technique nationale vise à faciliter le consensus sectoriel pour parvenir à un langage commun et à encourager l’interopérabilité nationale. Ceci sera fait en tirant parti et en faisant référence aux termes pertinents existants et en élaborant d’autres où des lacunes sont identifiées.

* Le champ d’application de l’énergie décentralisée (ÉD) comprend le chauffage, le refroidissement ou l’énergie électrique qui est produite, gérée et / ou stockée au point de consommation. Cela comprend la production d’énergie sur place, les technologies habilitantes de réseau électrique intelligent et les mesures d’efficacité énergétique.
